The UA Parents & Family Association has recently funded the UA Graduate College's Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP). SROP provides graduate school preparation to students who are first-generation college students, from low income backgrounds and/or are from minority groups that are underrepresented in higher education. SROP provides students with mentoring from UA faculty in the student's field of study as well as support and guidance from program staff.
The grant that was specifically awarded to the SROP program will help to fund the closing ceremony events of the summer. Through the dedicated support of UA parents, we are enhancing the experience of our students and helping them move towards careers that will benefit society.
The Graduate College thanks the UA Parents & Family Association for its support and encourages all parents to continue to give so that programs like SROP can continue.
